Texas: Dallas police arrest three DWI suspects in crashes involving squad car, firetruck
Dallas police arrested three people on suspicion of DWI after they crashed into authorities’ vehicles on the Dallas North Tollway early this morning. About 12:51 a.m., Dallas Fire-Rescue was blocking traffic while Texas Department of Public Safety troopers worked to clear a crash on the tollway near Mockingbird Lane.
A vehicle hit another vehicle and then crashed into a firetruck, police spokeswoman Melinda Gutierrez said. No one was injured. The firetruck only had damage to its front bumper, but police arrested two people on DWI charges.
Around the same time, another vehicle struck a police car that was trying to clear the freeway. Police officers were in squad car at the time of the crash, but weren’t injured. The driver of the car that hit them was arrested on a DWI charge, Gutierrez said. Police haven’t released the suspects’ names.
