South Carolina: Police look for car that struck officer in Rock Hill
Authorities say they are looking for a man who hit a Rock Hill police car with his own vehicle, then struck the officer with his open car door as he drove away from a gas station. Rock Hill Police said in a news release that the officer was not hurt in the incident Tuesday night.
Investigators say the officer was investigating loud music coming from an unoccupied Cadillac DeVille at the station when the suspect walked back to the vehicle.
Police say the officer asked the man for identification, and the man put his car into gear as he sat inside looking for his ID.
Authorities say the suspect hit the patrol car, then the officer. Investigators say the Cadillac DeVille has damage to the front bumper.
