Pennsylvania: Police officer struck by vehicle in Glen Rock
The officer dragged by a car for about 50 yards while investigating suspected drug activity is expected to make a full recovery. Emergency dispatchers say a police officer was hit by the car around 4:30 this afternoon near Main Street in Glen Rock. The driver of that vehicle then fled.
Southern Regional Police Chief James Boddington said the officer was investigating suspected drug activity when it happened.
“As he approached the vehicle and tried to talk to the individual he grabbed my officer by the arm and pulled him in the car. The vehicle was running and the driver stepped on the gas and went down the street at a high rate of speed,” said Boddington.
Boddington said the officer has a serious ankle injury as well as some cuts and bruises.
