Oklahoma: Sand Springs officer injured when struck by vehicle
Police in Sand Springs say an officer suffered minor injuries when a woman driving a stolen vehicle struck both the officer and his patrol car with her vehicle.
Police Chief Mike Carter says the woman was fleeing police in the stolen vehicle Friday when she stopped and tried to turn around. Carter says the officer stopped and ordered the woman to stop when she then drove at the officer and struck both him and the patrol car.
Carter says the officer opened fired and the vehicle went off the roadway. The woman was not hit by gunfire and was arrested after being shot with a stun gun.
Carter says the officer was treated and released at a hospital and the woman faces charges that include assault and battery on a police officer.
