Ohio: Columbus Police Officer Injured In Hit & Run
A Columbus Police officer has been hospitalized following a hit and run on the north side.
A Columbus police officer was struck around 11:00 a.m. on Karl Road, just north of Morse Road. Police say the driver pulled out of parking lot and struck the officer, who was on a motorcycle.
Following the crash, the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle’s driver. However, when the officer approached the vehicle, the driver fled the scene.
The driver is described as an older white male with a beard, driving a brown Chevy Malibu. He was last seen traveling north on Karl Road.
No other driver information was immediately available.
Meantime, the officer was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital in stable condition and is expected to recover.
