New Hampshire: State police patrol car struck on I-93

At 4:14 p.m. Sunday, authorities received a 911 call reporting that a 2002 Ford Explorer was traveling south on Interstate 93 in Thornton, weaving in and out of traffic and cutting motorists off.

About a minute later, Sgt. Victor Muzzey, who had been conducting a motor vehicle stop in the area, was struck by the Explorer while he was seated in his patrol car.

Upon impact, the Explorer skidded off the right side of the road into a treeline.The driver, 62-year-old Katherine Dangelo of Lincoln, N.H., was found to be under the influence of controlled medication and subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated.Muzzey and Dangelo were taken to Speare Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Dangelo was released on bail pending an arraignment in the 2nd Circuit District Division Plymouth.
