Michigan: Suspect Sought After Oakland County Deputy Punched, Hit By Car
Southfield police are looking for a man who punched an Oakland County Sheriff’s deputy and then struck the officer with his car as he fled the scene. It happened when the deputy was trying to assist an Oakland County Health Department worker who was attempting to restrain a man described as “uncooperative.”
The deputy was struck in the head, according to sheriff’s officials, and then knocked to the ground by the suspect vehicle as the suspect drove away. The deputy was taken to Southfield Providence Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released.
The suspect was described as a 27-year-old Redford Township man. No names have been released. Southfield police are handling the criminal investigation.
