Texas: Citizen pushes deputies out of the way as chase suspect nearly hits them
Montgomery County Precinct 4 Deputy Constables say someone in a Dodge Charger nearly hit them as they were working the scene of an earlier chase and arrest.
The first scene started at about 10 p.m. when deputy constables spotted a white pickup on FM 1314 just north of Highway 59. Authorities say three men in the pickup were throwing something out the window.
After stopping the pickup, a male passenger jumped out and ran into the woods. The suspect was later taken into custody, but not before the constable injured his knee during the search.
The man was charged with possession of marijuana and evading. The deputy was taken to Kingwood Hospital in stable condition.
About 30 minutes later, another Pct. 4 Deputy Constable arrived at the scene, and as he was talking with other deputies a 2014 Dodge Charger came speeding directly at them. A citizen who was standing with the officers helped push them out of the way, and a chase ensued.
The incident was captured on a police dash cam.
