Tennessee: Murfreesboro Police car hit during arrest
Erin Rose Long, 32, of Fairview Avenue was arrested and charged with evading by motor vehicle and resisting stop, halt and frisk, DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia Friday afternoon, according to a report from the Murfreesboro Police Department.
According to the report, officers were in the neighborhood, looking for a suspect who had fled the scene of an incident in a motor vehicle. Officers were told that Long was traveling in the neighborhood at a high rate of speed, also looking for the suspect.
When ordered to stop, Long refused, according to the report. She was finally blocked in by patrol cars and had to stop the car, but kept it running.
Several officers surrounded her car with guns drawn, the report stated, but Long still refused to get out of the vehicle and revved the engine and blew the horn. One officer pulled Long from the vehicle, at which time it moved forward because it was still in drive and struck a patrol car.
The car was stopped and Long was forced to the ground, where she was handcuffed and arrested, according to the report. The officer reported that Long continued to resist.
Bond was set for $9,500.
