Mississippi: Man tries to hit deputy with his vehicle arrested
A man who who almost hit a sheriff’s deputy with his car is behind bars.
Adams County authorities arrested 27-year-old Contrell Demond Shelley and charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Officials said on Thursday night, they wet to a barber shop on Minor Street after receiving a call about shots fired in the area. Sheriff’s deputies said they were assisting a few Natchez officers who were talking to witnesses, when they heard another nearby vehicle.
Authorities said the vehicle sped toward them and a deputy jumped on top of a patrol car to avoid being hit by car.
A deputy went after the suspect and was able to make an arrest.
