Michigan: Saginaw Police officer struck by vehicle
A Saginaw Township police officer was struck by a vehicle on Wednesday night. The officer was directing traffic at Maple Woods Drive West and McCarty Road, from a fire that started at McCarty Wine and Cheese just down the road.
He was struck by the vehicle and rolled over the top of the car. The officer was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. He is expected to survive. The officer's name has not been released.
Officers set up a perimeter to redirect traffic from the intersection, which is fairly well-traveled in Saginaw Township. Michigan State Police are conducting an investigation of the accident.
