Idaho drunk driver hits police car while trooper issues separate DUI ticket
A woman was injured early Sunday morning when she drove into an Idaho State Police car. Lewiston Police report the trooper was issuing a DUI ticket at the time. The woman who hit the police car was also cited for DUI.
Lewiston Police report the collision happened at around 3 a.m. on Highway 95 near milepost 311. The woman, identified as 28-year-old Deborah Everett of Lapwai, collided with the police car while the ISP trooper was investigating a separate DUI incident. Everett's 2007 Chevy Malibu struck the back of the police car. There was a 25-year-old man in the backseat of the car at the time. Both the man and Everett were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The troopers on the scene were not injured.
Lewiston officers got in touch with Everett at the hospital where she was cited and released for driving under the influence and failing to move over for an emergency vehicle.
