Alabama: Man arrested after trying to hit Tuscaloosa deputy with car
Lawmen in Tuscaloosa have arrested a man who attempted to run over a sheriff's deputy during a traffic stop.
Around 9:30 a.m., a Tuscaloosa County sheriff's deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at Jim Jones Road and Buttermilk Road, according to Tuscaloosa Metro Homicide Unit Commander Capt. Gary Hood.
The deputy spoke with the driver of the vehicle and went back to his motorcycle, and then saw the suspect's vehicle quickly backing up toward him. The deputy jumped out of the way and the vehicle hit his motorcycle, according to Hood.
The deputy identified the suspect as Natonio Hill, 40. Homicide investigators have obtained a warrant for attempted murder against him.
Hill was taken into custody Friday afternoon.
