Oregon: Police: Man carrying meth, heroin rammed into cop's car
Police say a 41-year-old man carrying meth and heroin rammed his car into a police cruiser, then attempted to flee the scene.
An officer found a stolen Ford Expedition at SE 127th Avenue and Stark Street around midnight Monday. The driver fled the scene when he saw an officer, who later caught up with him when he parked his car. As the officer pulled his car in front of the stolen car, the suspect then rammed the police car and fled the scene.
He crashed into a passing vehicle on Stark Street, then ran away on foot. Officers set up a perimeter, and found 41-year-old Dajuan Marcellus Mayo shortly after at 122nd and Main Street.
He was arrested on assault, attempt to elude, unlawful use of motor vehicle, failure to perform the duties of a driver, reckless driving, possession of meth and possession of heroin.
Mayo also had outstanding warrants out for his arrest.
The responding police officer and the driver of the car Mayo allegedly struck on Stark Street were both hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
