New Jersey: Jersey City police officer struck by out-of-control car, multiple others injured
A police officer was struck by an out-of-control car that also injured numerous others in Jersey City. The chain-reaction crash happened just after 8 p.m. on Sunday on Ocean Avenue near Myrtle Avenue.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver was in a red minivan. Officials confirm the driver was speeding on Ocean Avenue when he lost control, and struck another vehicle, sending the second car onto the sidewalk where pedestrians were standing.
Multiple victims were taken to the hospital. There is no report as to the extent of their injuries, including those of the officer.
