Nevada: Reno officer struck by black Mercedes fired shots at driver
Police are looking for a 24-year-old Reno man as a person of interest after the driver of a black Mercedes Benz struck a Reno police officer who then opened fire on the fleeing car.
The Washoe County Sheriff's office said in a statement Thursday 24-year-old Russell Kirk Roberts is wanted on outstanding warrants and should be considered armed and dangerous.
The sheriff's office says it is leading the investigation may have been hit by one of the officer's rounds.
Roberts is wanted on felony from Sparks police and parole and probation. Police say the car should have damage from gunfire on the driver's side.
The sheriff's statement says an officer responding to a 1:30 a.m. call about a dispute over a bar tab was flagged down by a woman who said a man in a Mercedes pointed a firearm at her.
