Florida: Paramedic hit by car after responding to crash
An off-duty paramedic was hit by a car Thursday morning, just after he responded to the scene of a crash. It all began around 6:15 when a car crashed into the back end of a tractor-trailer on US 19 near Jasmine Boulevard.
The paramedic was at the Arby's nearby, and was talking on a cell phone while walking to the wreck. The driver of another car, a SUV, stopped to help alert any oncoming drivers to the obstruction. While he was backing up near the origianal crash, he ran into the paramedic.
One person from the original wreck and the paramedic were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
