Connecticut: Route 72 East Reopens After Trooper-Involved Crash in Plainville/New Britain

Route 72 east has reopened on the Plainville/New Britain line after a crash involving a state police car. A vehicle struck the back of a state police car parked in the right lane while a trooper was investigating a crash. The accident happened east of exit 7 in Plainville.

The highway shut down as police investigated. An ambulance transported the driver of the vehicle that hit the cruiser to St. Francis Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
