Virginia: Madison Heights woman accused of hitting deputy with her SUV
A Madison Heights woman is accused of hitting an Amherst County deputy with her SUV on Friday afternoon. Crystal Gouldthorpe White, 35, is charged with felony assault.
The incident started when Sergeant J.M. Templeton responded to a domestic dispute on Wells Road in Madison Heights around 2:45 p.m. White allegedly hit Sgt. Templeton as he tried to move out of the way of her SUV. She swerved and fishtailed the vehicle while backing up, according to the sheriff's office.
Sgt. Templeton was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital, where he was treated and released. White is also charged with assault and battery on a family member, property damage, reckless driving and obstruction of justice. White is being held without bond pending a preliminary hearing in Amherst General District Court.
