Canada: Man killed in fire truck collision near Brown’s Line identified by Ontario Provincial Police
The OPP has released the identity of a man who was killed June 28 when his car slammed into the back of a Toronto Fire engine responding to an unrelated nearby collision. Forty-one-year-old Success Bello was pronounced dead on the scene when his Audi sedan struck the fire truck on the southbound ramp from Highway 427 to Brown’s Line sometime after 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 28.
OPP investigators say Bello’s vehicle struck a concrete guard rail, rotated sideways and slammed into the back of the fire engine with the driver’s side of the vehicle receiving the full force of impact. A female firefighter inside the truck suffered an injury to her arm in the collision. Police said the ramp where the collision occurred was wet.
