Massachusetts: Brockton man struck tow truck driver to avoid tow
A Brockton man who wanted to avoid having his car towed struck the tow truck driver and his truck before fleeing, police said. Police responded to 96 Pine Grove Drive about 11:25 p.m. Sunday. Arrested was Darryl James Ingram, 46, of 114 Bradley Avenue who was charged with leaving the scene of personal injury and leaving the scene of property damage.
Lynch's Towing was called to pick up an unauthorized vehicle by the private security company that monitors the apartment complex, Brockton Police Lt. Kenneth LeGrice said. As the tow worker was hooking the car up to the truck, Ingram began to argue with security workers.
Ingram got in his car and drove off, striking the tow truck driver and the tow truck, LeGrice said. The victim was injured and was taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center nearby. Police responded and a short time later Ingram returned where he was interviewed by police and placed under arrest, LeGrice said.
