Canada: Boy, 12, and officer hit by stolen car

A Saskatoon boy, 12, was taken to hospital last night after he was struck by a stolen car. At around 11 p.m. CST last night, police received a report of a car being driven erratically. Police determined it had been stolen two days earlier. When police stopped the vehicle, the boy got out of the car and ran. He was quickly caught by police.

While police were handcuffing the boy in front of the vehicle, the car rolled forward and hit the officer and the boy. The officer managed to push the vehicle back, rolling it off of the boy's leg.

A 13-year-old boy, a 14-year-old boy and two 12-year-old boys are all facing charges of Possession of Stolen Property. They will appear in court at a later date.
