Louisiana: State Trooper injured in crash during DWI arrest
A State Trooper suffered minor injuries when his State Police truck was hit by a drunk driver. Officials say around 2:40 a.m. the officer was parked on the side of the road while investigating an accident on Interstate 12 eastbound near O'Neal Lane. The officer arrested the driver from the accident for DWI and placed the driver in the back of the truck. While the officer and the driver were both sitting in the truck, they were struck from behind by a 2009 Toyota Highlander.
Both the trooper and the arrested driver were treated at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center for minor to moderate injuries. The driver, 24-year-old Magen Alicia Hall, was treated for minor injuries at scene and arrested. Hall's breath alcohol test registered nearly double the legal limit. She was taken to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison where she was booked for DWI and careless operation.
