Georgia: Family gives update on Ports officer hit by drunk driver
The family of William Solomon says he remains at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta in a coma, but he is improving. They say he is blinking more, keeping his eyes open longer, and the most encouraging sign is a shift in his brain, realigning it back into place from an original shift after the accident. Doctors performed a procedure on him Friday to remove excess fluid from around the brain. Family said he is out of surgery and is doing better. Corporal Solomon was directing traffic when police said he was hit by 63-year-old truck driver, Robert Lee Turner.Turner was arrested and charged with DUI following the incident.
