Georgia: Officer Struck by Truck at GA Ports in Critical Condition, Driver Out on Bond

The truck driver charged with DUI after severely injuring a Georgia Ports Authority officer is out of jail. Robert Lee Turner, 63, was released on a $4,600 bond. He is charged with operating a vehicle without a tag or decal and DUI less safe, both misdemeanors. Port officials said he hit Cpl. William Solomon on Monday afternoon.

Solomon remains in critical condition at Memorial Health. A close friend of Solomon said while he is still in critical condition, he is making some improvements. He was able to move his lower extremities on Wednesday, which is quite a miracle when just three days ago the family was told he might not make it.
