New York: Westchester Officer Struck
A Westchester County police officer was struck by a passing car while assisting a person on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Yonkers Friday morning. The officer had pulled over when he saw a man walking on parkway's southbound shoulder near McLean Avenue just before 10 a.m. The officer was out of his police cruiser, on the shoulder with the pedestrian, when he was struck by southbound vehicle.
