New Hampshire: Trooper Injured During Traffic Stop in New Hampton

The assistant commander of Troop E of the New Hampshire State Police was injured Wednesday morning when his cruiser was struck by a passing motorist during a routine vehicle stop. Staff Sgt. David McCormack was parked in the breakdown lane of I-93 north of Exit 23 with the blue lights of his cruiser flashing about 10:14 a.m. when it was hit by a white Kia driven by John E. Sparling, 61, of Thornton.
