Canada: Vehicle Strikes Toronto Police Officer, Drives Off
A vehicle struck a police officer while fleeing from the Entertainment District in downtown Toronto Friday night, spurring a search by OPP and Halton officers. Toronto police were patrolling on Richmond St. W. just west of John St. when their attention was drawn to the 2008 black Mercedes on alcohol-related concerns, according to division staff. Police say the vehicle fled, striking an officer with its side mirror as it drove off. The officer was not injured.
