California: Tow Truck Driver Hit on I-5

A 41-year-old tow truck driver responding to a crash on Interstate 5 near Encinitas Boulevard was seriously injured early Sunday when he was hit by a car driven by an alleged drunken driver. The unidentified tow truck operator, who worked for RoadOne Towing of San Diego, was transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. Information about his condition was not immediately available, but his injuries were not considered life threatening, according to authorities.
