    A San Bernardino police officer suffered a concussion and other injuries after he was struck by a car while detaining two graffiti suspects. It was reported that the officer was putting one suspect into his patrol unit Monday night when a sedan crashed into the vehicle and the officer.   • Florida: Jacksonville Sheriff's Officer Struck by Vehicle During Drug Arrest

    A sheriff’s officer has been struck by a vehicle during a narcotics investigation. Units were trying to arrest a suspect when the officer was in the roadway and struck. The suspect was arrested, and the officer’s injuries appear to be non-life-threatening, Undersheriff Dwain Senterfitt said.

  • Canada: 1 Man Dead as Road Crew Workers Struck by Car in Alliston

    Two workers on a road crew in Alliston were sent to hospital — where one man later died — after they were struck by a vehicle while painting lines early Friday. The OPP says a man and woman were painting lines on Victoria Street just before 3 a.m. when they were struck by a pickup truck. Police say the man — a volunteer firefighter — was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. He later died in hospital. The woman was treated at a local hospital and is listed in serious but stable condition.

  • Alabama: Officer Still recovering from Struck-By Injuries

    A Birmingham officer is continuing on his personal road to recovery after being hit while working a wreck on the interstate. Officer Brandon Smith was hit on I-20/59 by a man who police have charged with driving drunk. It happened the same night Officer Keary Hollis was shot and killed just a short distance away.

    A Denver Police officer was hit by a suspected drunk driver early Friday morning in a construction zone near Denver International Airport. The officer was patrolling the construction zone, in an unmarked vehicle, when she was rear-ended, police said.

    A southern New Jersey police officer remains hospitalized in stable condition after he was struck by an SUV during a traffic stop. Authorities say Monroe Township Patrolman Anthony Vezza was standing near a car he had pulled over Saturday night when an SUV struck his police cruiser and then him.
