Tennessee Trooper Nearly Killed in 2012 Crash Returns Home Following Surgery

The state trooper who nearly died when a trucker hit his patrol car on Interstate 40 two years ago is back home. Sgt. Lowell Russell returned to Knoxville Wednesday night from San Francisco. Family and friends welcomed him home at McGhee Tyson Airport. Russell suffered a fractured neck and spine in the 2012 crash as well as other injuries. He underwent another surgery last week. It's hoped Sgt. Russell will have more mobility in his neck as a result
