California Highway Patrol Officer Struck

At about 1:15 a.m. California Highway Patrol officers were conducting a traffic stop south of Willows on I-5 Northbound when the driver of Ford F-350 fell asleep and drifted onto the right hand shoulder. The truck was pulling a trailer that side swiped the Hyundai Elantra CHP had stopped. The impact caused the Elantra to slide sideways and hit CHP officer Joe Stokes.
