Canada: Dufferin County Declares State of Emergency Due to Weather

Dufferin County has declared a state of emergency Tuesday afternoon because of high winds and frigid temperatures created dangerous driving conditions. “Local resources have been exhausted and mutual assistance agreements need to be implemented to further manage this situation,” county warden Bill Hill said in a release. The bad weather may be behind a crash involving an OPP officer who was hurt after her cruiser was rear-ended by a transport truck just west of Orangeville earlier in the day.
