Pennsylvania: Woman Charged With Running Over Loganville Fire Police Chief's Foot
On Sunday afternoon, as PennDOT worked to clear snow-covered roads, fire police from the Loganville Fire Company responded to the Susquehanna Trail, near Beck Road, to stop traffic while PennDOT went to work. Shannon Blevins, fire police chief, was driving south in the roadway's northbound lane, his red lights flashing, heading up the road to see whether the road was clear of cars so PennDOT could begin plowing, according to court documents filed at District Judge Jeff Joy's office.
While he drove, a maroon Subaru Outback pulled out from a line of cars by the side of the road and followed him. He stopped and went to inform the driver of the Subaru that the road was closed, court documents state. And that led to a series of events that resulted in Blevins getting his foot run over and the driver of the car, Faye Ann Hammers, 61, of the first block of Pleasant Avenue in Jacobus, being charged with aggravated assault and other charges by state police.
