Florida Deputy Shoots and Kills Man Who Struck Cruiser After Traffic Stop
A Brevard County deputy shot and killed a 31-year-old man he had pulled over early Saturday in Melbourne for driving erratically but who sped away, striking the deputy's cruiser before crashing into a power pole, according to a sheriff's report.
After he was shot, Benjamin Mayolas Dykeman drove off, crashed the Honda Accord into a tree and fled on foot. He was captured after being tracked by a K-9. He was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center, where he died.
