Canadian Road Contractor Suspected of Not Performing Proper Traffic Control
Saint John emergency crews responded to at least 16 accidents along Highway 1 Friday morning, including one involving a tractor trailer that jackknifed and hit a police car. Eight people were injured and at least two of them were treated in hospital.
The series of pileups and chain-reaction accidents just east of the city left several witnesses questioning whether the private contractor responsible for clearing the highway had done enough.
