A Dayton firefighter has been struck by a pickup truck. The accident happened outside the Circle K store at 727 Shroyer Road around 6 p.m. The officer, who has not been identified, was transported to Miami Valley Hospital and is undergoing tests, said District Chief Tim Rose.

A man who had just helped move a broken-down vehicle was hit by an SUV and killed Monday night as he made his way across Enterprise Road in Mitchelville, authorities said.

Illinois Officer Struck By Day-Care Bus
A Community Service Police Officer was struck by a daycare bus and suffered a broken nose and fractured both wrists on Tuesday. The CSO was out doing traffic detail to help the busses leave the school and had her back towards the bus to direct traffic. The bus was turning left and one of the mirrors on the bus struck the CSO in back of the head.

Police say an officer was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic in west Houston. The incident was initially reported as a major accident around 4:10 p.m. Monday in the 15500 block of Memorial Drive.

Newark Firefighter Struck by Car
A vehicle hit and injured a Newark firefighter at the scene of a sparking electrical wire Monday night. The firefighter suffered and arm or wrist fracture when he was struck. A driver swerved from behind a line of stopped vehicles and drove into the cordoned area, striking the firefighter.

Pennsylvania Officer Struck and Injured
Police have identified the driver who struck a Jim Thorpe police officer, who was directing traffic around a disabled car on Route 209 in Nesquehoning, police said. Charges are pending against the driver Robert Monroe, 51, of Albrightsville, who was taken into custody Wednesday evening, according to state police at Lehighton.

North Carolina Fire and Police Personnel Struck
Two Black Mountain firefighters and a police officer were injured Monday while responding to a rush-hour wreck on I-40. The three were checking on a single-car accident when another vehicle hydroplaned into the police officer’s car with him inside, knocking it into the firefighters who were tending to the driver of the first car.

Authorities Seek Driver That Hit Florida Deputy
A Polk County Sheriff's deputy escaped serious injury Thanksgiving afternoon after being hit by a vehicle. According to the sheriff's office, a search is on for the driver of extended cab pickup truck that struck Dep. Mark Hicks, who was directing traffic.
