Massachusetts Man Locked Up For Assaulting Firefighters Who Were Clearing Snow Covered Hydrants
Police have charged an Arlington man who struck a FF with his vehicle Friday after becoming upset about snow being shoveled from around a fire hydrant to the sidewalk in front of his home. Citizen Leo Najarian, 59, has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, failure to stop for police and negligent operation of a vehicle. Firefighters were shoveling the snow from around the fire hydrants in the area when Najarian approached the Firefighters yelling and argued with them about the snow being shoveled onto his sidewalk.
When Firefighters told Najarian to leave the area, he got into his vehicle and backed into Fire Lt. Brian Gerra, who was not seriously injured. When police ordered Najarian to stop he fled the area, but was located a short time later and placed him under arrest.
