New York Police Arrest Man Who Tried to Hit Officers

Syracuse police have arrested a 45-year-old Oswego County man who they say attempted to hit city police officers with a stolen truck Saturday. A city police officer fired his service weapon into the vehicle after Scott Carpenter nearly struck the officers about 5:30 p.m. on a sidewalk of the 200 block of Pond Street, police Sgt. Thomas Connellan said.
