Long Island, NY Traffic Officer Seriously Injured

Suffolk County police officer was hit by a car and seriously injured as he was directing traffic Tuesday night in Yaphank near the scene of an earlier school bus accident.  The officer was on duty near the site of the accident involving a Longwood School District bus carrying 15 members of the junior high school girls' basketball team, police said.
