SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - A routine traffic stop Saturday night led to a collision that injured four people including a Washington State Patrol trooper and blocked traffic on I-90 for four hours. Authorities say just after midnight, a trooper was on a traffic stop between Pines and westbound Argonne when a truck heading westbound pulled onto the shoulder of I-90 and struck the patrol car. The patrol car was pushed across all three westbound lanes into a jersey barrier where it was struck by a fourth vehicle. 47-year old State trooper Allen Larned and the person he had pulled over were transported to Sacred Heart hospital. Hospital officials said Sunday that both were in satisfactory condition.

Two people in the pickup were treated, released and booked into jail for investigation of Vehicular Assault. State troopers say drugs or alcohol were a factor in the incident.
