18-Wheeler Strikes, Kills N.C. Deputy and Firefighter

Authorities say an Onslow County deputy and a firefighter directing traffic on U.S. 17 have been killed after they were struck by a tractor-trailer.  The Highway Patrol identified the dead as 36-year-old deputy Steven Boehm and 52-year-old firefighter Gene Thomas.
