INDIANAPOLIS OFFICER STRUCK BY PICKUP TRUCK
An officer was injured when he was hit by a pickup truck on Indianapolis' west side early Friday morning. Police said Indianapolis Metro police Officer Justin Turner was struck by the truck at 6:50 a.m. as he directed traffic at another crash at Crawfordsville and North Girls School roads.
According to police, Turner was standing on the north side of the intersection and directing westbound traffic when a pickup truck driven by Anthony Morris, 53, hit him. Police said Morris didn't see Turner until a moment before the crash because he was watching another officer who was directing traffic at the scene. Turner was awake and alert when he was taken to Methodist Hospital.
Morris was not cited.
