FLORIDA DEPUTY INJURED WHEN HER CRUISER IS STRUCK
An Okeechobee sheriff's deputy was hurt this morning when a dual-wheel pickup hit her patrol car head-on at a construction site on State Road 70 west of the city. Deputy Sarah Green sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to fully recover, according to sheriff's spokesman Detective Ted Van Deman.
She was working a special off-duty detail to slow traffic in the construction area at the time of the 8:24 a.m. crash. The accident happened in the same area where a small jet made an emergency landing earlier this week.
