D.C. PARAMEDIC STRUCK BY VAN
A D.C. paramedic was struck by a van while working a call in Georgetown on Thursday afternoon. The medic was returning to his ambulance to get more equipment to help a man suffering a diabetic seizure when he was struck by a van, said D.C. fire spokesman Alan Etter. The van’s driver slowed down but then fled the scene, and was last seen traveling westbound on Q Street near 33rd Avenue Northwest.
The medic, a veteran in his 50s, was treated with minor injuries at an area hospital and released. Police are looking for the van, described as a blue Chrysler.
