WISCONSIN DEPUTY INJURED IN CAR CRASH
The Wisconsin State Patrol reports that a two-car injury left a Waupaca County Sheriff's Deputy with non-life threatening injuries today. According to a news release, a deputy's squad car was hit from behind by a Ford Taurus on Highway 10 near River Drive, Waupaca, when an ice-strewn highway caused the driver of the Taurus to lose control of the vehicle and strike the squad car.
The deputy, a 36-year-old Waupaca resident, had pulled to the side of the road to tend to a vehicle that slid into the median shoulder on Highway 10. She was taken to the Waupaca Riverside Hospital. The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the accident. The names of the deputy and the driver, a 54-year-old Amherst man, have not been released.
