TRUCK RUNS INTO VIRGINIA STATE TROOPER'S CRUISER
A state trooper was hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries after the cruiser he was in was struck by a tractor-trailer yesterday afternoon, according to Virginia State Police. Authorities did not release the name of the trooper. He was stopped at state Route 614 waiting to turn onto state Route 14 when a westbound tractor-trailer turning onto Route 614 struck his car, state police said.
Sgt. Thomas Cunningham, a state police spokesman, did not immediately have information about the truck driver. The truck struck the trooper's car on its driver's side door and shoved it off the highway.
