NORTH CAROLINADEPUTY AND K-9 HIT DURING TRAFFIC STOP

A driver faces charges in connection with hitting a Wake County deputy during a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon.Raleigh police said Deputy Jeremy Green and his K-9 pulled over a car on Jones Franklin Road near the Interstate 440 Beltline.

While they were stopped on the side of the road, another car rear-ended them. Neither the deputy, nor the dog, was injured. The driver of the vehicle that struck the deputy was cited for failure to move over. The driver was also transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
