NO BLAME PLACED IN INITIAL REPORT ON WISCONSIN L.O.D.D.

An initial report into a crash that killed a Chippewa County sheriff's deputy doesn't place blame on anyone. Deputy Jason Zunker died last month after he was hit by a 21-year-old woman as he responded to a truck fire south of Bloomer.

State Patrol Lieutenant Jeffrey Lorentz says his agency is still investigating but the initial report doesn't provide a declaration of fault. The report states Zunker was wearing dark clothes without a reflective vest. The report says weather, alcohol and drugs were not involved. Chippewa County District Attorney Jon Theisen is still considering charges against the woman.
