WISCONSIN DEPUTY INVESTIGATING CAR CRASH HIT BY CAR

A Winnebago County sheriff's deputy is recovering after getting hit by a car on Highway 41. The sheriff's department says Deputy Matthew Weisse was out of his squad car investigating a car accident near Highway 76 when he was hit by a car Wednesday morning at 5:30.

Weisse was taken to a hospital with minor injuries and released. The sheriff's department says the highway was slippery from light snow at the time.
